Down Comforters Down Pillows Down Featherbeds

The use of down and feathers is very, very old and very traditional. They have the ability to maintain body temperature, allowing us to rest and refresh ourselves more easily - thus sounder sleep and better health!

Down Comforters We use a traditional construction for all comforters, sewing three inch baffles at nine inch intervals, securing them at the top and bottom edges. All joining seams are double stitched to prevent down migration and to ease wear along the edges. Plus, we use cotton down proof fabric, cotton thread and natural fabrics for the covers. Down Pillows are filled with all down or a mixture of half duck down & half little feathers. New pillows are standard size (26" x 20") and have a zippered pillow protector of down-proof fabric. Click for more info.

Down Featherbeds slept upon, are made with baffle construction and to the dimensions of your mattress. They are filled with a half & half mixture of duck down & little feathers, or 100% duck feathers. Measure your mattress to ensure the fit. A Muslin removable cover is recommended. Recycling Down Feathers We encourage you to recycle your existing down and feathers! Down Home Comforts specializes in remaking down bedding. Provided your down still has loft, we carefully examine and clean it for reuse. Additional down or mixture will be added only with your consent!

CARING FOR
YOUR DOWN

Tips from Down Home Comforts!

1. NEVER wash or dry clean down!
Down needs its natural oils to provide loft and insultation -- washing removes these essential oils.

2. Air out and fluff your comforters and pillows on occassion.
We recommend hanging them outdoors in sunny, dry weather

3. Always use a removable (and washable) cover.
Duvet covers and pillow cases protect your down products from dirt and moisture.

4. In case of disaster (spills, etc.) ...
first push down away from the area. Then use a damp cloth or sponge to clean the ticking (cover). Mild soap may be used first. Avoid getting the down wet!
